As Porter cabin crew, we take pride in our work and in our company’s unique culture. But as Porter continues to grow as an airline, we’re ready to improve our working conditions and compensation, and evolve the representation that cabin crew have with management. Porter isn’t a start-up any more, and it’s increasingly clear that we need and deserve a fair, enforceable contract and strong representation at work.
It’s been proven that joining a union will have immediate and important benefits for members, including better contracts and better pay and benefits. On average, unionized workers across Canada earned $5.14/hour more than non-union workers. Women in unions earned more too ($6.88/hour more) and got paid more fairly. Workers under age 25 earned an extra 26% from jobs covered by a collective agreement.
